She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go. She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all of the memories that held her back. She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right. She didn’t promise to let go. She didn’t journal about it. She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope. She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go. She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter. She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment. She didn’t call the prayer line. She didn’t utter one word. She just let go.

No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort. There was no struggle. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad. It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be. A small smile came over her face. A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore.

Be like Mulla Nasaruddin

Story – #1

Mulla Nasaruddin, deep in thoughts was walking down along with his dear donkey, on a road near palace when he bumped into a man. The man got very angry and begun to curse and shout at Mulla.

“Do you know who I am?” He screamed. “I am the king’s Adviser!”

“That’s nice,” said Mulla. “As for me I am a King.”

” A King?” Asked the man. “Over which country do you rule?!”

” I rule over myself,” said Mulla. ” I am master of my passions. You would never find me losing my temper as you did just now.”

The man apologised and went away feeling very ashamed of himself.

Moral of the story

Rule yourself. Rule over your temper.

Never let others to rule your temper.

What is शिवतत्व?

Basically ‘Tatvas’ are parts or principles or aspects of nature. Their presence or absence, combination and permutation play an important role in the creation of the diversity of worlds.

Their objects and beings, individual bodies, limbs and organs. In short their aggregation and segregation constitute the building blocks of the whole material manifestation.

According to Hindu mythology, Shiva tatva is Omnipresent. I felt shivatatva is the whole point of realisation, is to be conscious of it in its depth, yet to be awake to its non-dual glory, in one’s awareness, in the depth of Samadhi.

I personally found ‘महामृत्युंजय मंत्र’ fascinating, and powerful. Many of times I chant, particularly when I feel low or scared deep within. My Nanima – (Late) Shrimati Padma introduce this very powerful mantra to me in the early childhood and I have been told once that one can win over death too, with the help of this mantra..

And the mantra is,

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे

सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्

उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्

मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥

One has to pronou this as,

Om Try-Ambakam Yajaamahe

Sugandhim Pusstti-Vardhanam

Urvaarukam-Iva Bandhanaan

Mrtyor-Mukssiiya Maa-[A]mrtaat.

It means

Om, We Worship the Three-Eyed One (Lord Shiva),

Who is Fragrant (Spiritual Essence) and Who Nourishes all beings.

May He severe our Bondage of Samsara (Worldly Life), like a Cucumber (severed from the bondage of its Creeper), …

and thus Liberate us from the Fear of Death, by making us realize that we are never separated from our Immortal Nature.

according to our Puranas, one should chant महामृत्युंजय मंत्र along with बीजमंत्र as shivatatva is been discerned as the highest in all other 36 tatvas. And on Shivratri it is at its highest peak.

  • I and my generation found shivatatva is manly with grace of woomanhood, attractive and bit mysterious and so so soothing. (a line with so many paradoxes )   but that’s what makes shivatatva ‘ शिवतत्व ‘. Even you can check it out whith tattoos too! Most tattooed mantra or silhouettes are of Lord shiva Why you’re waiting for ? Shivratri is here. If you havnt started yet. Start chanting this मंत्र from this auspicious day itseft.

Linking what my guru says about Shivratri and shivtatva.Shiva principals

ॐ नमः शिवाय

Are you Lucky enough to have that ‘SomeOne’???

Sometimes you meet a person and the things you never really liked before, like deep black eyes or deep dimpley smile or dark hair or that annoying thing people with beautiful mouths do where they introduce themselves and their name gets stuck on everything. Sometimes you let that person into your space and suddenly there’s nowhere left for you to just sit and write that doesn’t already hold a piece of them…
